Shelly L. Robinson is the director of career services and senior program development officer for the MAPSS, Committee on International Relations and Computational Social Science programs. She has over 15 years in career development and higher education administration. In addition to her time at UChicago, she has also worked at public and proprietary institutions including Purdue University (Northwest), DeVry, and their Keller Graduate School of Management. Additionally, her past experience includes over ten years in human resources, talent acquisition, advertising and operations management with companies such as Enterprise Holdings, Vanguard Services, NBC News, WKHY and WZVN Radio. She is former president of the Career Development Professionals of Indiana and remains involved in a variety of career-related organizations like the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
She holds a PhD in Communication from Purdue University, where she concentrates in Organizational Communication. Her research interests include career-related discourse, multiculturalism, learning theory and design. She has taught courses in speech, strategic communication, career, and critical thinking.
