Our Peer Links program brings together current domestic and international students to form meaningful peer-to-peer relationships through a variety of activities designed to expand social circles, facilitate intercultural sharing and assist in acclimating students to UChicago. Peer Links provides a great way to develop a robust peer network and social life while at UChicago. See below for details.
Elements of Peer Links
Core Group – Participants in the program are joined in groups of three or four to form a core group. Core groups meet independently at least twice a quarter to help students develop supportive peer-to-peer relationships.
Large Group Events – Peer Links’ large group events bring together all program participants for social events such as bowling at Seven Ten Lanes, a Chicago Bulls game, a visit to the Second City comedy improv theater, game night and a community potluck dinner.
Urban Race Challenge – Core groups are invited to participate in the Urban Race Challenge, which challenges students to visit as many free and accessible Chicago landmarks, places, institutions and special events as possible. This friendly competition helps students get away from Hyde Park and out in the great city of Chicago to experience all it has to offer.
