The Master of Arts Program in Social Sciences (MAPSS) offers students two pathways to a degree, each of which fully supports a program tailored to your research interests and future academic and career plans. One route is focusing on a specific social science discipline, illustrated by the departments in the Division of the Social Sciences. Another is pursuing one of the interdisciplinary concentrations that are connected to Centers, Institutes, and other programs across the University.

In addition, MAPSS students can complete a graduate certificate during the course of their degree year. Including this in your UChicago graduate experience further distinguishes your accomplishments as you consider future doctoral programs and career aspirations.
